Four female drivers confirmed to compete in GT Academy 2023 season

Ginetta, the leading British motorsport marque which celebrates is 65th anniversary in 2023, has today announced four female GT Academy drivers will be joining the Ginetta championship for their debut season.

Ginetta Managing Director Amy Tomlinson will be joined by her two siblings Emma Tomlinson and Lucy Tomlinson as well as Charlotte Lowe to take to the wheel of the G56 GTA for the first round of the championship at Oulton Park from 08-10 April.

Ginetta is dedicated to providing pathways into pro motorsport for drivers of all experience levels. The 2023 season will see the most female competitors ever to take part in the Ginetta Championships. A total of nine confirmed women racing drivers will be competing across three Championship grids.

Tomlinson siblings Amy, Emma and Lucy have taken a leap onto the Ginetta Motorsport ladder this year for the first time, following in the footsteps of their Father and Le Mans winner, Lawrence Tomlinson. Ginetta Managing Director, Amy Tomlinson will compete against her two siblings in her debut car racing season following an extensive testing program over the winter break.

Amy Tomlinson, Managing Director, Ginetta, said: “We are extremely excited to be joining the GTA grid this season – especially all being able to compete together. Having been part of the paddock supporting our brother Freddie throughout his racing career, to be on the other side of the fence although initially daunting will give us all a completely new perspective and we are excited for the challenge ahead”.

Charlotte Lowe, said: “Racing has always been in my blood from a young age, with both parent’s rally driving. They weren’t keen on me racing, so I didn’t! My only regret now is wishing I started younger, but I keep telling myself ‘It’s never too late to be who you might have been’”.

Ginetta supports talent of all ages to go from novice to pro racing. The GT Academy series is racing alongside the Intelligent Money British GT Championship season and the season opening round is at Oulton Park on 8-10 April.
