Hagerty is one of the world’s largest automotive lifestyle brands, famous for its leading insurance products, global events, and multi-platform automotive content. Hagerty is also committed to saving the art of driving and the collector car industry, via a worldwide series of educational programs and charitable partnerships.
Throughout 2022, Hagerty International will be a Principle Sponsor of StarterMotor, a Bicester Heritage based charity, dedicated to enhancing the education experience of students in the maintenance and use of historic, classic, and modern classic vehicles.
Like Hagerty, the charity has a passion in encouraging the next generation of enthusiasts to enjoy all aspects of historic motoring, while also celebrating the rising popularity of modern classics. David Withers, Chief Executive of StarterMotor added “There is a clear need to engage a new generation, to encourage them to take up careers in the historic vehicle industry and to enjoy historic cars. StarterMotor has partnerships with educational facilities, colleges and apprenticeship schemes and provides vehicles and other resources for their students to not only learn from, but also to use in competitions, events and shows.”
Hagerty is a principle sponsor of StarterMotor, providing support to the charity via monetary donations as well insurance and partnership benefits. Hagerty branding will feature prominently in all charity publicity and communications and the Hagerty team will work closely with the charity at various events, endeavours, and initiatives. Likewise, Starter Motor will partner with numerous Hagerty events such as Festival of the Unexceptional and will support their involvement with the RAC London to Brighton veteran car run.
Speaking of the partnership Mark Roper, Managing Director for Hagerty International, said “Engaging the next generation of classic car enthusiasts has long been a key objective of Hagerty, and we already run a series of global education and promotional activities to do just that. Working with StarterMotor allows us to focus on the UK market, and we have a host of initiatives, soon to launch, which will excite and appeal to young enthusiasts looking for a career in the classic and collector car industry. Hagerty is proud to support such an important charity, and I am looking forward to the year ahead.”
